WHATS THE VERY BEST HAIR RELAXER ?

Well after reading more than enough information and reviews i would say people are very pleased with either of these three as they are the very best quality!!

Affirm by Avlon,

Mizani

and Phytospecific !!!

Relaxing, texturizing and texlaxing Black hair

Relaxing, texturizing and texlaxing are in actual fact quite similar. All 3 involve the use of chemicals called relaxers or texturizers to change the basic structure of the hair. The length of time the chemicals are left in the hair and the type of chemical used, determine whether the hair is relaxed, texlaxed or texturized.

A strand test must always be done before attempting to process the hair with any chemical. This gives you the ideal processing time for the result you are looking for. A person may have a variety of textures on their heads which may require a different processing time for each section! This avoids any over or under – processing of the hair.

Relaxing – This involves the use of a Sodium Hydroxide hair relaxer (Lye Relaxer) which is the strongest and gives the most dramatic effect or a Guanidine Hydroxide hair relaxer (No Lye) which is considered healthier for hair based on its lower alkalinity. ... (more)

STEAM HAIR WITHOUT A STEAMER!

You certainly don’t want to become a product junkie buying every hair tool you can find only to use it once then realize that it’s not absolutely necessary.

A steamer is certainly not necessary if you already own a hooded or bonnet dryer.  The idea of the steamer is to infuse moisture into the hair with the aid of heat. The steam method is especially ideal if your hair is in need of extra moisture or you have a treatment in your hair that requires a steamer e.g. The Coconut And Lime Treatment.

Great results can be achieved just as easily with a couple of handy household items and if you already own a hooded dryer, a steam treatment is well within your reach without breaking the bank!  What you will need:

2 face cloths

A bowl full of hot water (not boiling)

2 plastic caps or plastic bags A

hooded/bonnet dryer

Prepare your hair first by washing and applying the conditioner or hair treatment. Soak both face cloths in the hot water. ... (more)

A NATURAL WAY OF RELAXING THE HAIR TO MAKE IT STRAIGHTER!

If you have natural very curly/kinky hair, particularly 4a/b hair types, you will appreciate that it will take more heat to get ‘relaxer straight’ results when you flat iron your hair. The downfall of using too much heat on your hair is that it may damage it irreparably i.e. burn it straight! Nobody wants to risk the health of their hair for the sake of straight locks for a week. An alternative is required.

This is where the coconut and lime ‘relaxer’ could help you. The ‘straightening’ effect achieved is most noticeable in slightly wavy hair. In African American (black) hair, the results are more subtle and with continued application, it results in loosening or elongating the curl pattern which makes heat styling much easier. This technique is by no means new; it has been used for years by Asian women to straighten their curly hair safely without the use of chemicals.

The original recipe involves mixing coconut juice with the lime juice and leaving in the fridge overnight until a cream ... (more)

HOT OIL TREATMENT!!

For those who don’t know what it is, oil rinsing boils down to an extra step between shampooing and conditioning that promises to make detangling a breeze, make your hair retain moisture much better, increase softness and shine. In essence it is a like a hot oil treatment done while you are in the shower.

Here’s how you do an oil rinse:
•    Start by shampooing your hair, if you are co washing only then just rinse your hair but make sure it gets soaked.
•    Coat your wet hair with about a handful (about ½ cup or so) of your favourite oil like olive, jojoba, castor etc
•    Rinse the oil off with hot water
•    Proceed to apply conditioner to your strands liberally
•    Rinse with cool water while detangling. This should be quick and painless!
•    Apply your leave in conditioner and seal

What makes oil rinsing better than a hot oil treatment is that the shampooing ... (more)

HOW TO MAKE RELAXED HAIR GROW

Here are 5 easy ways to get your chemically relaxed hair to grow and grow!

1. Deep Conditioning Treatments – This is key in the health of your relaxed hair. Moisture promotes elasticity which is important in making the hair resilient to damage. Relaxed hair loves deep conditioning treatments. A deep conditioner is any good natural conditioner left on for 20-30 minutes (even overnight for some). It is always best to use heat with a deep conditioner. Heat makes the hair shaft swell up hence it absorbs more moisture. Heat can be added with a hair steamer, hooded dryer (with a plastic heat cap) or even with a warm towel tied around the head. The deep conditioning treatment should be rinsed well from the hair and always end with a cold water rinse. The cold water makes the hair cuticle close keeping all that lovely moisture inside the shaft.
2. ‘Seal’ the moisture in – The most common way to do this is with oils. ... (more)

Homemade Remedy For Hair Loss: Homemade shampoo hair loss

Making homemade shampoo is easy if you have access to the necessary ingredients.

1. Try soaking sesame or fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Mash this in the morning and make a past. Mix virgin coconut oil. Use this in replace of your shampoo, massage it to your scalp and leave it on for a few minutes. Use this treatment twice a week.

2. Combine 130 grams each of dried amla, shikaki, and reetha in one liter of water. Let it infuse for a few hours and boil it. Take out the leaves and use the water as a shampoo.

How to grow back hairline!!

Loosing your temple hairline?

The reason for the increase is Traction Alopecia, a hair loss condition caused by damage to the dermal papilla and hair follicle by constant pulling or tension over a long period. It often occurs in persons who wears tight braids, especially "cornrows" that lead to high tension, pulling and breakage of hair.

This condition is most common in African-American women and men who braid their hair too tightly. It is also common in Sikh men of India and Japanese women whose traditional hair styles also pull and damage hair. Traction alopecia occurs more frequently in children, teenagers and young adults then it does in older women and men.

Traction alopecia is reversible if diagnosed early, but may lead to permanent hair loss if it is undetected for a protracted period. Hair loss is often in the frontal and temporal regions, but also depends on the hair style. ... (more)

HAIR LOSS TYPES

Medically, hair loss falls into several categories, including:

HOW TO REVENT AND TREAT SPLIT ENDS!

The best way to treat split ends is to prevent them in the first place by deep-conditioning your hair frequently. A good quality conditioner should be rich and creamy but leave no residue on the hair. If your hair is dry, shampoo less frequently to prevent further damage, and minimize exposure to the elements, using a hat if you're spending a lot of time in the sun.

Reducing the use of curling irons and hairdryers also helps, as the intense heat contributes to hair splitting. ... (more)

HOW OFTEN TO CUT/TRIM HAIR?

Of course these are just averages. Depending on the condition (= health) of your hair you'll need more or less visits to the hair salon.

Depending on the health of your hair it is about average to get it trimmed about every 6-10 wks. If your hair is more dry & badly damaged it may need a trim every 4-6 weeks.

The hair normally grows 1/2 in.- 5/8 in. a mo., if you only trim 1/4 in. every 6-10 weeks you will still gain length. If you get a trim every 4 weeks and have 1/2" cut off you will NOT grow length because you will be cutting what you gained for the moment.

WHATS THE BEST HAIR VITAMINS?

Hair loss occurs when the diet is inadequate in the B vitamins - especially B6, biotin, inositol and folic acid; and the minerals magnesium, sulfur and zinc. The B vitamins, especially B5 (pantothenic acid and B3 (niacin), are especially important for hair growth.

Certain essential amino acids are found to control the thinning and thickening of hair in laboratory animals. For example, when rats were fed a diet deficient in magnesium, they lost their hair in bunches. The situation was even more serious with some other B-vitamins. When rats were fed a diet low in biotin or inositol, they became hairless! This nutrient-deficient condition was found to be reversible. When the rats were fed a diet that was rich in B vitamins, it resulted in the complete restoration of hair.

Men deficient in vitamin B6 often lose their hair. When they are deficient in folic acid, some men became completely bald! As in case of animals, when normal intake of theses vitamins were restored, the hair also ... (more)

WHAT BLOCKS HAIR GROWTH?

Excessive stress and some medications are conclusively known to retard hair growth.   If you have a medical condition and your physician has prescribed medications it is imperative that you follow your doctor's orders regardless of the impact to your hair,

Warning:  Always consult your doctor BEFORE you undertake any new type of vitamin, mineral program or herbal program of any type to make sure it does not interfere with any medical treatment you may currently be on.

However, if you are under severe stress it is helpful to reduce the stress as much as possible.  Consider meditation or relaxation as a way to cut back on any major stress in your life.  Your hair will love your for it.

Another secret hair helper is rest and sleep.  It has been discovered that to grow faster, hair needs an adequate amount of sleep (7-9 hours are suggested).

WHATS THE BIGGEST ADVANTAGE OF HAIR EXTENSIONS?

The biggest advantage is that it truly boots a client's self esteem.  It is miraculous how having hair extensions added can make a person feel a lot better about themselves in so many ways.

I have met people whose self esteem was destroyed by bad hair.  It ruined their lives.  The idea that extensions could help them have a normal life is a great thing.  People suffering from cancer treatments, alopecia or other heredity hair and scalp problems can conquer hair loss issues and feel a lot better about their looks.

In some cases I have seen how hair extensions added to women and men with thinning or hair loss problems because like new people overnight.  It is very exciting to watch the transformation.

The most satisfying thing for me doing this work with hair extensions is to help people who are suffering needlessly from hair problems that have destroyed their own self esteem and their ability to function socially in the outside world. ... (more)

HOW CAN I MAKE MY HAIR THICKER?

Oil
Massage your hair at least once a week, with warm olive or coconut oil. Do a gentle massage by rubbing the oil on the scalp, in small circular motions. You can even dip a towel in hot water, squeeze out the excess water from it and wrap it around your hair. This process will help the oil reach hair follicles, making your hair strong, thick and healthy.

Indian Gooseberry
Using IndianGooseberry (Amla) is also a nice way to get thick hair, as it promotes hair growth. Cut gooseberry in small pieces and boil it with coconut oil; strain the oil and apply it on your hair. If the gooseberry is not available in natural form, get the powdered form and soak it overnight in boiled water. Apply it on your hair in the morning and rinse it after an hour. You can even boil its pieces in water and use the strained liquid to rinse your hair after a head bath.

Traditional Indian henna is a boon for hair, as serves as a great conditioner and even endorses ... (more)

What foods encourage hair growth?

When choosing food for hair growth, remember that hair is made of protein; therefore protein-rich foods should make up a high percentage of your diet. The second most important hair nutrient is iron. Each key nutrient below lists the foods that promote hair growth:

HOW LONG DOES HAIR HAVE TO BE TO HAVE EXTENSIONS?

2-3 INCHES EVEN IF YOU HAVE A SHORT PIXIE CUT I CAN DO WONDERS!

HAIR GROWS FASTER IN SUMMER THAN IN WINTER!

During the summertime, human hair grows 10 to 15 percent faster than in the winter. This is because warm weather enhances blood circulation to the skin and scalp, which in turn nourishes hair cells and stimulates growth. In cold weather, when blood is needed to warm internal organs, circulation to the body surface slows and hair cells grow less quickly. During the warm summer months, the human body has to work faster to perform some common activities and maintain homeostasis. It also has to work faster and harder to help the body cool down. This leads to faster cell division due to more efficient blood circulation throughout the body, which, among other things, causes hair to grow faster. Hair cells at the root divide much more quickly in the summer than during winter months and push the hair down more rapidly. As a result, hair grows faster by about 10 percent. Has anyone noticed this if so feel free to comment....

HOW FAST DOES HAIR GROW?

It depends on ones genetics and diet generally aswell as maintainance. If you just got a really bad hair cut, then hair seems like it does not grow at all, while hair that you have to shave every day seems to grow like a weed!

Ignoring these perceptual differences, human hair seems to grow at a pretty consistent rate of about half a millimeter or so per day, or about half an inch every month so 0.5 inches a month (this study quotes a specific rate of 0.44 mm per day). It may grow faster or slower depending on your age, your genetics and your hormonal state (pregnancy seems to have an affect on hair), but half a millimeter per day is a good average.

What this means is that the maximum growth rate for hair is about 6 inches (15 cm) per year. If you have short hair and are thinking, "It sure would be nice if I had hair down to my waist," then you are going to have about a four-year wait.

HENNA DYE!

Henna makes your hair shiny, healthy, and strong!

Henna has safely colored and conditioned women's hair for at least six thousand years and it does a lovely job!
Henna has tannin in it and the tannin molecules bind into keratin (hair) molecules and make the fibers physically stronger, like winding threads together to make a stronger string. After you henna hair, it is softer, stronger,  it tangles less, and the split ends disappear.

Traditionally, henna was believed to have the quality of "Baraka" meaning "blessedness" or "grace."  It was believed to be able to avert the evil eye and thwart demons that caused disease, depression and misbehavior.  Your regular hair dye never did that for you!

Henna is good for you and your hair, and you can use it as often as you like!

Everything on this page DOES have a sound basis in research and chemistry.

This page is here because people ask me questions about hennaing hair all the time. ... (more)

SCALP STIMULATION! VERY IMPORTANT!

Scalp stimulation is the easiest option!! By massaging the scalp, increased blood flow causes moderate hair re growth. Get a quality, boar bristle brush to use. These natural bristles are good for your hair and stimulate the scalp nicely. Spend a little more time massaging your scalp as you shampoo and condition. Try a vibrating hair brush! They feel wonderful!

The Benefits of Scalp Massage

A properly done scalp massage can increase blood circulation to the hair follicles, increase relaxation, decrease stress, condition the scalp, and boost the strength of the hair roots. The kneading pressure applied by massage warms the skin and opens up blood vessels to increase flow and boost circulation. Increased circulation means that the cells of the hair follicle will receive more of the nutrients necessary to optimal hair growth function. The rubbing motion promotes relaxation and feels good, thus increasing the production of "feel good" chemicals that work to lower levels of ... (more)

BLEACHING THE HAIR?

Hair bleaching is the process of removing the pigment from the hair strand. Quite often hydrogen peroxide or ammonium persulfate is used as the main ingredient of hair bleach. These are called oxidizing agents. These bleaching agents must enter the hair and reach the melanin in the core of the hair to change its composition. These agents use oxygen to accomplish this and the resulting melanin is white or colorless.

Along with the oxidizing agent, an alkaline solution is used. This lifts the cuticle of the hair, which in turn allows the oxidizer to reach the melanin. If this process is done to the hair too often the cuticle will fail to lie back down over the hair shaft properly and the bleached hair may look dull and lifeless.

If you have brown hair the bleaching process should be done in several steps to lessen the damage to the hair shaft. Hair passes through many shades of color before it reaches the desired white color. Brown first turns to red. ... (more)

AFFECTS OF DYE ON HAIR

  1. Some of the most common reasons to color your hair are to renew, brighten, cover gray, or change your natural hair color. Once you have decided why you want to change your hair color; the next step is to decide what type of hair color you'd like to use. There are several different types of hair color. We will take a look at the basic three types of haircolor. They are available at large department stores.

  2. The first type is semi-permanent hair color. It does not contain peroxide, or ammonia. It doesn't usually damage your hair. This type, ever so slightly, enhances your natural hair color. You can reasonably expect this type of product to cover up to 50% of your gray hair. The color lasts for 6-12 shampoos only.

  3.
The next type is demi-permanent hair coloring. It has a low peroxide level and no ammonia. ... (more)

What hair cream/oil will actually grow hair?

Well there i have been for months and months doing my research and coming across only one thing that i found was made of PURE ingredients for many of my clients would love such a product that actually works WITH NO SIDE EFFECTS ! DO NOT BE FOOLED!Most SUPERB HAIR GROWTH products that claim to be “all-natural" and for super hair growth contain synthetic emulsifiers and harsh detergents, such as Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Phosphates, Dimethicone, and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Unfortunately, these products are loaded with toxins and chemicals that actually dry and strip your hair of vital nutrients it needs to grow. Find a hair growth product that contains powerful essential oils, natural herbs, and vitamin rich nutrients your hair needs to survive. Look for products with ingredients such as the aformentioned Aloe Vera, Citrus Fruits, Jojoba, Rosemary, and Sage. Make sure you stay away from all natural products that use natural extracts. Extracts are not as powerful as essentials oils. ... (more)
